Eligibility Criteria

PMSSS is designed for meritorious J&K youth facing access challenges. Open to fresh Class 12 passers – here's how to qualify:

General Requirements:

  • Domicile/permanent resident of Jammu & Kashmir (or Ladakh).
  • Passed Class 12 (10+2) or 10+3 Diploma from a J&K Board with min. 60% aggregate (relaxable for reserved categories).
  • Age: Below 24 years as of July 1, 2025.
  • Family income: Below ₹8 Lakhs per annum (income certificate required).
  • No prior PMSSS award; not availing other central scholarships for the same course.
  • Must pursue full-time UG course outside J&K/Ladakh in an AICTE/UGC-approved institution.

Category-Wise Relaxations:
